PTFE diaphragms support the air-operated double diaphragm pump industry, valves and other fluid handling equipment.  Custom PTFE, fluoropolymer diaphragms engineered and manufactured by Advanced EMC Technologies consistently outperform competitors PTFE diaphragms in durability testing.  In flexural cycle testing our Teflon (PTFE) diaphragms reliably surpass the 12MM cycle benchmark.

The PTFE, TFM, PFA diaphragm molding process begins with diaphragm blanks being machined from compression molded materials in Virgin PTFE, TFM, PFA.  The diaphragm blanks are then thermally formed in matched die sets, trimmed and finished to the customers’ specifications and tolerances.

The unique properties of PTFE and advanced fluoropolymers make them an ideal choice for applications that require FDA approval, high levels of chemical inertness and ultra pure applications such as semiconductor.  As the applications for PTFE diaphragms and bellows are generally dynamic, there is a high demand for flouropolymer compounds to have outstanding levels of fatigue resistance.  Our materials have been specifically developed to perform well in high frequency reciprocating applications ensuring excellent product reliability and performance.  Additionally High Purity PTFE diaphragms are available using special PTFE resins for the medical, pharmaceutical and ultra clean applications.

PTFE Bellows and Compensators

PTFE can is used both for sealing the conveyed media and too compensate for the valve spindle motion.  It is typical for non-stuffing box type systems that PTFE bellows are used as isolating, metering, servo and conveyance valves.  Pumps, agitators, centrifuges, filling and weighing units can be installed in equipment and piping systems of steel, enameled steel, glass and plastic, to provide minimal vibration and shock due to the installation of the PTFE bellows.  This flexible adapter also ensures the compensation of axial, lateral and angular movements.  PTFE bellows are produced by machining of Fluorolon PTFE or Modified PTFE from molded PTFE Rod or Tube.
