AISI 316 and 316L Stainless Steel Bearings for Marine Services
Advanced EMC Technologies manufactures radial ball bearings in both 316 & 316L stainless steel which provides superior corrosion resistance when compared to conventional 440 stainless bearings. AISI 316 is more resistant to atmospheric and general corrosive conditions than any of the other standard stainless steels on the market today. The 316L is superior in seawater applications due to lower carbon <03% concentration. In general, 316 stainless bearings are used in the food processing, medical and biotech industries. Bearings produced using Stainless can run in liquids or run dry at slower speeds.
Stainless is not recommended in high load, high speed applications as they are typically specified in corrosive and subsea service.
